Salient Achievements

Standardised the softwood grafting technique in cashew
Nursery production technology has been developed.
Planting Techniques and after-care have been standardised.
Pruning and shaping techniques are worked out for important varieties
The dosage of manure and fertilisers has been recommended
A high-density planting system (5 m x 5 m) in cashew has been developed.
The Ultra-high-density planting system in cashew (3 m x 3 m) is worked out, and VRI-3 and Bidhan Bonsai Caju varieties are recommended.
Irrigation requirement for cashew is worked out
Intercrops such as turmeric, zinger, Amorphophallus, etc. have been grown successfully in cashew
Technology for the rejuvenation of senile and old orchards has been standardised.
