Professional Summary
As a cashew research professional, my work has focused on developing and implementing strategies to improve crop resilience and yield, particularly concerning major environmental stresses. My experience encompasses comprehensive screening programs for stress tolerance and identifying the underlying physiological and biochemical mechanisms. I have led comprehensive screening studies, identifying salt and drought tolerant varieties which can serve as crucial genetic resources for breeding programs aimed at sustainable cashew production in saline and drought conditions. Complementing the stress tolerance work, my research also explored temperature-related impacts on flowering phenology and pollen viability across cashew varieties, revealing differences in optimal temperature ranges and heat tolerance. This research, combined with stress tolerance screening, provides critical data for breeding climate-resilient cultivars. My work also includes hormonal regulation and advanced canopy management techniques to optimize yield. These integrated efforts contribute significantly to sustainable cashew production in challenging environmental conditions, strengthening breeding programs and improving yields.
