The Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released the 24th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme to eligible beneficiaries on 30th October 2026 at 10.00 AM from Banaskantha, Gujarat. As part of the 24th instalment, an amount exceeding ₹18,690 crore was transferred directly to the bank accounts of more than 9.34 crore eligible farmers across the country. The release marked another significant step towards ensuring timely financial assistance to farming families and reaffirming the Government’s commitment to farmers’ welfare and agricultural development.
In this connection, a live streaming of the programme was organised at ICAR–Directorate of Cashew Research (ICAR-DCR), Puttur, on 30th October 2026 at 10.00 AM. A total of 94 members, including farmers, participated in the programme. Farmers from Sullia Taluk were mobilised to participate in the programme and were provided an opportunity to witness the live telecast of the event. Scientists of ICAR-DCR, Puttur, interacted with the farmers and highlighted the importance of cashew cultivation as a viable agricultural enterprise. They emphasised the adoption of scientific cultivation practices, improved varieties, proper nutrient management and effective orchard management techniques for enhancing cashew productivity and ensuring sustainable farm livelihoods.
The programme provided an opportunity to create awareness among farmers about the importance of government initiatives such as PM-KISAN in supporting the farming community.
